Jammu travellers can now explore five iconic destinations in South India in just 13 days with IRCTC this November.
If you are in Jammu and Kashmir and have been dreaming of exploring South India’s iconic temples, this November could be the perfect time to pack your bags. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is, for the first time, organising a 13-day Dakshin Bharat Yatra from Jammu, offering travellers a convenient way to discover five of the region’s most revered destinations aboard a Bharat Gaurav special tourist train.
The journey will begin from Jammu Tawi Railway Station on 14 November, with the train returning on 26 November. The itinerary includes Rameshwaram’s Ramanathaswamy Temple, Madurai’s Meenakshi Temple, Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, Tirupati Balaji Temple and Mallikarjun Jyotirlinga in Markapur, Andhra Pradesh.
For travellers, the biggest draw is the ease of covering these destinations without having to change trains during the journey. IRCTC said the tour has been planned around comfort, convenience and an immersive experience of South India’s religious and cultural heritage.
The train will also have 15 boarding stations across north and central India, with Virangana Lakshmibai station in Jhansi being the last boarding point.
There are three travel categories to suit different budgets. Economy starts at ₹26,895 per person, Standard at ₹42,605, and Comfort at ₹56,830. Depending on the category, inclusions range from meals and tea to AC train travel, accommodation, and transportation.
With registration already open on the IRCTC website, seats will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, making this a noteworthy option for travellers seeking a hassle-free spiritual journey from North India to South India.
